Axinom Sponsors School Project for Children of Immigrants

In collaboration with the Department of Youth and Family Services, Axinom sponsored the project “Deutsch im Koffer”, German in the suitcase, at the local school in Fürth, Germany. Children of immigrants have been taking extracurricular lessons for four months, where they playfully and successfully learn the German language.

The Nuremberger author Trudi Götz developed a special program for her audience that comprises of extensive learning and teaching materials for the German language. The program also encourages active participation and independence in the fifth graders. With cards and board games, they learn in work groups, for example, the correct use of grammatical genders. To evaluate the game, the children show different color cards to their teacher.

“I have to admit that I was very impressed by the self-motivation and enthusiasm of the children when I met them at school. They have a strong will to improve their language skills,” said Ralph Wagner, managing director of Axinom GmbH, who learned about the project from a friend.

In the future, Axinom plans to sponsor projects with an educational focus each year.
